Treatment Modalities

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each treatment session is unique and specifically tailored to individual client needs.  We start each treatment with an assessment that determines the greatest restriction in the body and a discussion of what your greatest concerns are that day.  From there, in consultation with the you, a treatment plan is developed and carried out.  Many techniques, like Muscle Energy Technique, Visceral or Neural Manipulation, or cranial sacral can be done through clothing or the clothing moved aside.  Touch varies depending on the technique being used and can be fairly light and very specific or deeper and still very specific.

WHAT THE CLIENT CAN DO

It is best to be well hydrated, make sure to drink adequate amounts of water the day before treatment, the day of treatment and the day post treatment.  Water helps flush all tissue types.  This is not to suggest that you can or should be dehydrated the rest of the time!  Adequate water is about 1 liter of water for every 50 lbs. of body weight.

WHAT TO WEAR

Women – wear loose yoga style pants or shorts, a t-shirt and a loose fitting bra.  Sports bras are too tight as I am trying to work through layers of tissue; skin, subcutaneous fascia, fascial layers, muscle layers, more fascia and into or with bone and joints.

Men – wear loose sweats or longer shorts and a t-shirt.

The idea behind looser clothing is so I can feel the movement of tissue and protect modesty, yours and mine!
