WHO I AM AND WHAT I DO
I’ve been in practice for over 25 years and I love the human body! It is an amazing network of cells, tubes and fluid that has empowered us to go to the moon, create cell phones and produce stunningly beautiful works of art.
I spend a lot of time studying, testing, touching and moving the body to try to bring it back into balance, to open up the potential for the body’s own innate healing system to shine and bring the body back into harmony.
Better balance for my clients means they have increased opportunity to create a richer life for themselves and the people around them, it means less pain, better functioning immune system and more easily engaging in living, loving and laughing.
I especially love working with children, their healing potential is so untapped and when their world view is restricted by fascial torsions or nerve entrapments their potential is a little dimmed. Using very gentle work to release restrictions can help them to really shine, as they grow, they can make better choices because they choose from a more open place.
The quote in the beginning, when it was written was really referring to the mind and thoughts, if we raise a child with prejudices they will develop prejudices. The same applies to their body, if they grow with or around restrictions, they will have to compensate for their whole lives. I love that I have the opportunity to help change that at a very early age.
There is so much to learn and so much to be thankful for every day; that we breathe without thought, that we can feel, that we can think, that we can ambulate and make toast. All this because we have cells and tubes and a little spit.
“Sometimes we need to think outside the box (muscles and bones) and sometimes we need to think inside the box (fascia, organs, nerve and vascular pathways and their attachments)…recently I’m finding that inside the box is more interesting and often the cause of chronic pain, so it makes sense to free up internally restricted tissue”.
